* When you read to your child you build a stronger relationship with him/her. This is the time when just the two of you can spend some quality time together. Best done before bedtime.
* Academic excellence is another primary benefit to reading to a toddler. Little toddlers tend to want to learn more and helps them be ready for elementary school.
* Basic speech skills is another advantage toddlers learn from reading. When reading to your child, they listen to the sound of the words you say which will help them learn how to pronounce words too.
* Toddlers learn better communication skills by listening to you read and play out the different characters in the book. And also by paying attention to how you speak to him/her during story time.
So how many kids say reading is fun? Not many. But if you start early, you can help your child learn that reading can be fun.
